How do note approvals work?
Request approval when a brief or doc needs a sign-off before it is final.
Updated 2026-08-13
Request approval on a note when it needs a formal sign-off — the approver sees a clear request and the note carries its approval status until it's resolved.
Requesting approval
- Open the note and choose Request approval.
- Pick who needs to approve it.
- The approver is notified and can review the note in place.
Approving a note
The approver opens the note, reviews the content, and marks it approved once it's ready — or leaves it pending and follows up if it's not. The note's status updates so anyone viewing it can see who has approved and who's still pending.
Tips
- Use approvals for anything that needs a real decision on record — a brief, a policy doc, a plan that's about to become official — not for routine notes.
- Approval status is visible on the note itself, so you don't need to ask "did this get signed off yet?" in chat.
