How do I turn a highlight into a task?
Select text in a note and create a task so action items do not stay buried in prose.
Updated 2026-08-13
Select the text describing the action item, choose Create task, and FabricLoop turns it into a real task linked back to that spot in the note.
Steps
- In the note, select the text that describes something someone needs to do.
- Choose Create task from the selection menu that appears.
- FabricLoop pre-fills a task title from the highlighted text — adjust it, set an assignee and due date, and save.
- The task keeps a link back to the note, so opening it later takes you straight to the paragraph it came from.
Tips
- This is the fastest way to make sure meeting notes and briefs actually turn into tracked work instead of good intentions.
- You can create multiple tasks from the same note as you work through it — each keeps its own link back.
