How do I turn a highlight into a task?

Select text in a note and create a task so action items do not stay buried in prose.

Updated 2026-08-13

Select the text describing the action item, choose Create task, and FabricLoop turns it into a real task linked back to that spot in the note.

Steps

  1. In the note, select the text that describes something someone needs to do.
  2. Choose Create task from the selection menu that appears.
  3. FabricLoop pre-fills a task title from the highlighted text — adjust it, set an assignee and due date, and save.
  4. The task keeps a link back to the note, so opening it later takes you straight to the paragraph it came from.
