How do I complete or archive a task?
Mark work done, and archive tasks you no longer need in the active board.
Updated 2026-08-13
Tick a task off when the work is done, or archive it to clear it out of the active board without deleting its history.
Marking a task complete
- Open the task, or use the checkbox next to it in list or Kanban view.
- Mark it as done. Depending on your workspace's sections, this may move it into a "Done" column automatically.
- Completed tasks stay visible (often with a filter to show/hide them) so you can still find and reference them later.
Archiving a task
- Open the task and choose Archive from its menu.
- Archived tasks drop out of the default active views, keeping your board focused on current work.
- To bring one back, find it under the archived filter and choose Unarchive — it returns to its previous section with its full history intact.
Tips
- Archiving is for tasks you don't need to see day-to-day but might reference later — it's not deletion.
- Completed and archived are independent: a task can be marked done and still sit in the active board until you archive it.
