How do AI call summaries work?
If you record and transcribe a call, FabricLoop posts a summary, suggested follow-up tasks, and optional notes in the conversation after you hang up.
When a call is recorded, FabricLoop transcribes it and posts a Call Summary in the same conversation after it ends — with an overview, suggested action items, and a link to call notes when those are created.
Turn recording on before you start
- Start a call from a conversation.
- On the pre-call screen, leave Record & transcribe on if you want a summary. Turn it off if this call should not be saved.
- Join as usual. Incoming-call notices can remind participants that the call may be recorded.
Recording is decided when the call starts. Turning it off later for one person would stop the transcript for everyone, so the in-call settings show transcripts as On or Off rather than a mid-call toggle.
After you hang up
- End the call with the leave control.
- A Call ended divider appears in the conversation (with duration when available).
- A few moments later — often around 10–30 seconds whilst transcription and the summary finish — a Call Summary card is posted.
The summary can include:
- Who was on the call
- A short overview of what was discussed
- Suggested action items you can create as tasks (edit the title first if you want)
- A View call notes link when notes were saved from the recording
Creating a suggested task from the card adds it to the workspace. You have a short window to undo if it was the wrong item.
Tips
- If Record & transcribe was off, no transcript or summary is saved for that call.
- Live captions during the call (where available) are for following along in the moment — the posted summary is the durable follow-up.
- If the summary hasn't appeared yet, stay in the conversation and wait a bit; FabricLoop refreshes the thread after processing finishes.
