Tasks

Assign work, set due dates, and track progress in list, Kanban, or calendar views.

How do I create a task?

Create a task from the Tasks surface or from a conversation so work stays linked to context.

Updated 2026-08-13

Create a task from the Tasks surface for standalone work, or straight out of a message when the work grows out of a conversation.

From the Tasks surface

  1. Open Tasks and click New task.
  2. Give it a clear title — this is what shows up in list, Kanban, and calendar views.
  3. Choose a group if your workspace organises tasks that way, then save.
  4. Add an assignee, due date, and any details once it's created — see assigning a task and setting due dates.

From a conversation

  1. Hover over the message that describes the work.
  2. Choose Create task from the message menu.
  3. FabricLoop pre-fills the task from the message and links back to the original conversation, so anyone on the task can jump to the context it came from.
