How do I connect an AI agent?

Message an agent directly in a channel, or connect Cursor, Claude, or ChatGPT to your workspace over MCP.

Updated 2026-08-13

You can talk to an AI agent right inside a channel, or connect an external AI tool like Cursor, Claude, or ChatGPT so it can read and write your workspace's notes, tasks, and news.

Message an agent in a channel

  1. Open any channel or DM where an agent is available (built-in agents like Loop Agent, or agents your admin has added).
  2. Mention or message the agent the same way you'd message a teammate — no slash commands needed.
  3. The agent replies in the thread, so the rest of the channel stays uncluttered.

See How do I message an AI agent in a channel? for more.

Connect an external AI tool over MCP

  1. Open Settings → AI / MCP (or the app's entry in the MCP catalog).
  2. Enable the tool for your workspace — an admin may need to do this step.
  3. If the tool needs OAuth, tap Connect your account and sign in to authorize it.
  4. Once connected, that tool can read and write notes, tasks, and news in your workspace, scoped to the access you granted.
