How do I add an AI agent to a channel?

Give a channel a home agent from a template, or describe the work and review the draft before you create it.

Open the channel’s Apps & agents screen and add an AI agent. Start from a template, or describe the work in a sentence and review the draft before you create it.

Open Apps & agents

1. Open the channel.
2. Open Apps and Agents from the channel header menu (•••), or open the channel’s Apps & agents tab.
3. If the channel has nothing set up yet, pick AI agent. If it already has apps or agents, tap + (Add an agent or app) and choose AI agent.

Start from a template

1. Browse Start from a template, or search.
2. Tap a template. FabricLoop creates the agent with that channel as its home channel.
3. Open the agent to review checks, triggers, and the model it will use.

Templates cover work such as researching, reviewing new messages, or drafting replies — on a schedule or when something is posted in the channel.

Describe what you want

1. Choose Describe what you want (or Build agent).
2. Pick the Home channel if you are not already inside one.
3. Write a sentence such as “Summarize new channel messages and draft follow-up tasks.”
4. Refine the live draft in follow-up messages, then tap Review and create.

The agent is named and scoped to that home channel. You can message it later with @ like any other teammate.

Tips

• Agents appear on Team and in AI Hub → Agents. The Team Add agent control also opens the Agents hub.
• If AI agent is missing, apps and agents may be turned off for the workspace — ask an owner or admin.
• Production runs use agent credits. Free workspaces include test-only credits.
• These agents (and any connected MCP app) are different from Loop, your built-in private Ask AI assistant — see What is Loop Agent?.
