You can talk to an AI agent right inside a channel, add a named agent that lives on that channel, or connect an external AI tool like Cursor, Claude, or ChatGPT so it can read and write your workspace's messages, tasks, notes, and news.
Message an agent in a channel
- Open any channel or DM where an agent is available — an agent your workspace has added, or a connected MCP app.
- Mention or message the agent the same way you'd message a teammate — no slash commands needed.
- The agent replies in the thread, so the rest of the channel stays uncluttered.
For a private AI you talk to in text or voice instead, use built-in Loop — see What is Loop Agent?.
See How do I message an AI agent in a channel? for more.
Add an agent to a channel
- Open the channel's Apps & agents screen from the header menu.
- Choose AI agent, then start from a template or Describe what you want.
- Review the draft and create it. That channel becomes the agent's home.
See How do I add an AI agent to a channel? for the full walkthrough.
Connect an external AI tool over MCP
- Open Settings → AI / MCP and copy the MCP endpoint.
- Add that URL in Cursor, Claude, or ChatGPT as a remote MCP server / custom connector.
- Approve the OAuth consent screen for the workspace and scopes you want.
- Once connected, that tool can read and write messages, tasks, notes, and news — scoped to what your account can already see.
See the MCP team workspace overview, How do I connect MCP tools like Cursor, Claude, or ChatGPT? for the full walkthrough, and How do I set up an MCP app? for catalogue apps you enable *inside* FabricLoop.
Tips
- Free workspaces get test-only agent credits for trying this out; production agent usage requires a paid plan — see How do agent credits and usage work?.
- MCP grants are visible and revocable — remove access anytime from the same settings screen where you connected it.
