How do I set up an MCP app?
Follow the in-app setup guide for each MCP catalog app, including OAuth when required.
Updated 2026-08-13
Each MCP catalog app has an in-app setup guide. An admin enables the app for the workspace, then each person connects their own account — including OAuth when the vendor requires it.
Open the app from the catalogue
- Open Settings → Apps, or AI Hub → Apps.
- Find the app under Catalogue (search if the list is long).
- Open the app to see its status: not enabled, organisation setup needed, connect your account, or connected.
Enable it for the workspace
- If the app shows Not enabled yet, an owner or admin taps Enable for workspace.
- If you're an editor, ask an owner or admin to enable it — you will see Ask an admin until they do.
- After enable, follow the Setup guide on the app detail screen. Some apps need vendor steps (API keys, organisation install) before anyone can connect.
Connect with OAuth
- Complete the setup guide if one is shown, including Vendor docs when you need extra detail.
- Tap Connect account (or I've finished setup — Connect). A browser sign-in opens for that vendor.
- Sign in and approve access, then return to FabricLoop. Status should change to Connected.
- Optionally tap Open chat to message the app, or @mention it in any channel.
If a previous login expired, tap Reconnect account. Reconnect refreshes your permissions without disabling the app for everyone else.
Tips
- Admins can set a display name, Read-only mode, and a tool policy (All tools or an Allowlist) on the app detail screen.
- Revoke my connection disconnects only you. Disable app for workspace (admins) archives the app and revokes all connections.
- Some catalogue rows are marked coming soon — Connect is unavailable until the app is ready.
