How do I connect an AI agent?
Message an agent directly in a channel, or connect Cursor, Claude, or ChatGPT to your workspace over MCP.
Updated 2026-08-13
You can talk to an AI agent right inside a channel, or connect an external AI tool like Cursor, Claude, or ChatGPT so it can read and write your workspace's notes, tasks, and news.
Message an agent in a channel
- Open any channel or DM where an agent is available (built-in agents like Loop Agent, or agents your admin has added).
- Mention or message the agent the same way you'd message a teammate — no slash commands needed.
- The agent replies in the thread, so the rest of the channel stays uncluttered.
See How do I message an AI agent in a channel? for more.
Connect an external AI tool over MCP
- Open Settings → AI / MCP (or the app's entry in the MCP catalogue).
- Enable the tool for your workspace — an admin may need to do this step.
- If the tool needs OAuth, tap Connect your account and sign in to authorise it.
- Once connected, that tool can read and write notes, tasks, and news in your workspace, scoped to the access you granted.

Tips
- Free workspaces get test-only agent credits for trying this out; production agent usage requires a paid plan — see How do agent credits and usage work?.
- MCP grants are visible and revocable — remove access anytime from the same settings screen where you connected it.
