How do I send my first message?

Open a channel or start a direct message, then type and send — the same as any modern chat app.

Pick a channel or a person, type your message, and send it — your workspace's default channels are ready as soon as you join.

Steps

1. From Home, open the Team or Messages tab.
2. Pick where to post:
3. Tap the message box at the bottom, type your message, and attach a file or image if you need to.
4. Send it. If you're replying to a specific message instead of starting a new topic, use Reply instead so the main channel stays readable.

If you don't see any channels yet

New workspaces start with a few default channels. If your team hasn't created any yet, use New Channel to create one for your team, project, or topic — see How do I create a channel?.

Tips
