Open the message menu, choose Forward, pick people or channels, and send. The original stays where it is; recipients see a quoted copy.
Steps
- Open the message menu — tap or long-press the message on iPhone or iPad, or hover it on web and desktop.
- Choose Forward.
- Pick who should receive it. On the web the dialogue is titled Forward message; search people and channels. On iPhone, iPad, and Mac, Select People lists People, Apps, and Agents — tap Done when you have a selection.
- Add an optional note and send.
On iPhone, iPad, and Mac, the destination opens with a Forwarding banner and a quoted preview. You can add your own text, or tap Remove forwarded message if you change your mind before sending.
Forward also works from a thread, from a message card, and from the composer when a message is already attached.
Tips
- Forwarding does not delete or edit the original.
- Recipients see who wrote the original and a short preview of the text or Attachment.
- To keep a copy for yourself instead of sending it on, use Save in the same message menu.
