Loop is the name of FabricLoop's built-in AI assistant — the same assistant behind Ask AI, in both text and voice. It's private to you, not something you @mention in a channel.
Where you talk to Loop
- Tap the sparkles control on Home or in the toolbar, or open Settings → AI Hub, and stay on the Ask AI tab.
- Type a question, or on iPhone tap the waveform to talk to Loop with Voice AI instead.
- Loop answers using the workspace content it needs — your messages, tasks, notes, and people.
What it can do
- Summarise a thread or catch you up on unread work.
- Create tasks from what the team just decided.
- Draft a note or an update for you to review before you post it.
- Answer questions about your workspace — who owns what, what's due, what changed.
Loop drafts; you send. It doesn't post to a channel or notify anyone on its own.
Channel teammates are different
Loop lives in your private Ask AI conversation, not in a channel. For an agent (or app) the whole channel can see and @mention, add a named agent from a template or by describing the work, or connect an MCP app like GitHub or Linear. Those have their own name, live on a home channel, and reply in the thread when mentioned.
Tips
- Loop's replies stay in your Ask AI conversation — use message an agent for something the team should see in a channel.
- Production agent runs use agent credits. Free workspaces include test-only credits.
