How does Voice AI work on iPhone?
Use Voice AI to create tasks and summarise today’s messages hands-free. It only works in languages the speech models support.
Voice AI lets you speak to FabricLoop on iPhone to create tasks and summarise today’s messages without typing. It only works in languages the speech models support.
iOS only: Voice AI is available on iPhone. It is not available on iPad, Mac, Windows, Android, or web today.
Supported languages
Voice AI uses speech models that only work in a specific set of languages. FabricLoop checks your iPhone preferred language (Settings → General → Language & Region). If that language is not supported, the voice button is hidden.
The speech models currently support:
Afrikaans, Arabic, Armenian, Azerbaijani, Belarusian, Bosnian, Bulgarian, Catalan, Chinese, Croatian, Czech, Danish, Dutch, English, Estonian, Finnish, French, Galician, German, Greek, Hebrew, Hindi, Hungarian, Icelandic, Indonesian, Italian, Japanese, Kannada, Kazakh, Korean, Latvian, Lithuanian, Macedonian, Malay, Maori, Marathi, Nepali, Norwegian (Bokmål and Nynorsk), Persian, Polish, Portuguese, Romanian, Russian, Serbian, Slovak, Slovenian, Spanish, Swahili, Swedish, Tagalog (including Filipino), Tamil, Thai, Turkish, Ukrainian, Urdu, Vietnamese, and Welsh.
This list is smaller than the languages FabricLoop’s website and typed Ask support. Typed Ask still works in every language the app supports.
Start a voice session
- Open Ask AI from the sparkles control (Home, the toolbar, or Settings → AI Hub).
- Tap the waveform control next to the composer (or Voice ask).
- Allow microphone access if iOS asks — Voice AI cannot hear you without it.
- Speak your request, then end the session when you are done. Turns are saved in the same Ask AI conversation so you can read them later.
What you can ask
- Create a task in plain language — for example, “Create a task called Review mockups due Friday.”
- Summarise today’s messages — ask what you missed this morning, and Voice AI reads your channels and highlights what needs a reply.
- Follow up in the same session if you need a correction or a next step.
Free-plan rate limits
- On the Free plan, Voice AI is capped at 2 requests per hour.
- If you hit the cap, FabricLoop asks you to upgrade for higher usage.
- Paid plans lift that hourly cap. See What is included in the free plan?.
Tips
- End any in-progress FabricLoop call before starting Voice AI — you cannot run both at once.
- If the voice button is missing, your iPhone language may not be in the supported list above, or Voice AI may be turned off for the workspace.
- Typed Ask is still available if you would rather not use the microphone.
