Calls

Audio and video from any channel or DM, with AI summaries when you hang up.

What permissions do calls need?

Microphone access is required for audio; camera access is required for video. Grant them in your device or browser settings if a call has no sound or picture.

Audio calls need microphone access. Video calls also need camera access. FabricLoop asks the first time you use those features; after that, you manage them in your operating system or browser settings.

Allow microphone and camera

  1. Start or join a call.
  2. If your device or browser prompts for Microphone or Camera, choose Allow.
  3. Speak a test line and check that your camera preview appears. If either is blocked, you can still be in the room, but others won't hear or see you.

FabricLoop uses the microphone to call teammates, record audio clips in messages, and talk to Ask AI. The camera is used for video calls, photos, and document scanning on iPhone.

If access was denied

On iPhone or iPad

  1. Open the device Settings app (not FabricLoop settings).
  2. Scroll to FabricLoop.
  3. Turn Microphone and Camera on, then return to the call and toggle mic or video again.

On the web

  1. Open the site settings for fabricloop.com in your browser (often the lock or tune icon in the address bar).
  2. Set Microphone and Camera to Allow.
  3. Reload and rejoin the call. If transcription needed the mic and it was blocked, grant access and rejoin so captions can start.

On Mac or Windows desktop apps

  1. Open the system privacy settings for microphone and camera.
  2. Enable FabricLoop (or your browser, if that's how you join).
  3. Restart the app if the change doesn't apply immediately.
