Search

One search across messages, tasks, notes, news, people, and files.

How do I filter search results?

Use type chips to narrow to messages, tasks, notes, news, or people. In the apps, open Filters for from/in/with, dates, files, and more.

After you search, type chips let you keep only the kind of result you want. In the native apps, Filters adds Slack-style constraints such as from a person, in a group, date range, and file type.

Filter by type

  1. Run a search.
  2. Tap a chip above the results: All, Task, Message, Note, News, Person, and (in the apps) File, Comment, Call, or Channel.
  3. Counts on the chips show how many matches of that type came back.
  4. Return to All to see every type again.

On the web, the chips are All plus Task, News, Note, Person, and Message.

More filters in the apps

  1. Tap the Filters control next to the search field (it shows a badge when filters are on).
  2. Set any of:
  3. Tap Search to apply, or Clear Filters to start over.

Quick capsules under the search field (such as From me, Has file, Last 7 days, or This channel when you searched from a conversation) apply a common filter in one tap.
