How do I install a channel app?
Add an app to a channel so you can message it where the work happens.
Updated 2026-08-13
Install a channel app from the Apps catalogue into a specific channel. After it is bound, you @mention it in that channel like a teammate.
From the Apps catalogue
- Open Settings → Apps, or AI Hub → Apps.
- Browse Catalogue (or search) for the app.
- Under Direct, tap Add to channel (or Add if you already opened Apps from a channel).
- Pick the channel if asked, then complete Connect if the vendor needs a sign-in.
From the channel
- Open the channel, then open Apps & Agents (channel apps).
- Tap Bind app… or choose the app under Catalogue.
- Follow Connect — FabricLoop opens a secure browser sign-in for that vendor when OAuth is required.
- When status is active, the app is bound to that channel.
MCP apps work differently: an admin enables them for the whole workspace, then each person connects their account. Those apps can be mentioned in any channel. See How do I set up an MCP app?.
Tips
- Direct integrations are per channel ("On channel"). MCP connections are workspace-wide.
- You need access to the channel to bind a Direct app. Enabling MCP apps for the workspace is admin or owner only.
- Incoming webhook apps create a URL shown once — copy it before you close the sheet.
