What you can ask Google Calendar

Ask in plain language, with no slash commands. Google Calendar replies in the thread so the whole team sees the result.

These are examples of the kind of request to try. What Google Calendar can do depends on your Google Calendar account and permissions.

How to chat with Google Calendar in a channel

  1. Enable it for the workspace. An admin or owner opens the Apps tab, switches to MCP, finds Google Calendar and enables it.
  2. Connect your account. Each person signs in to Google Calendar once. FabricLoop acts as you, using your permissions.
  3. Message it directly. Select Google Calendar in the left nav or in Messages to chat with it in its own channel.
  4. Or mention it in any channel. Type @, pick Google Calendar and describe what you want. It replies in the thread on your message, so everyone in the channel can see it, and you can keep going there for follow-ups.

Google Calendar integration FAQ

What is the Google Calendar MCP server URL?

The Google Calendar MCP server is at https://calendarmcp.googleapis.com/mcp/v1. FabricLoop connects to it for you when an admin enables Google Calendar, so you do not paste the URL anywhere.

How do I use Google Calendar in FabricLoop?

An admin enables Google Calendar from the Apps tab under MCP and each person connects their own Google Calendar account. Then select Google Calendar in the left nav or in Messages to chat with it in its own channel, or type @ in any channel, pick Google Calendar and ask in plain language. In a channel it replies in the thread.

Who can see what Google Calendar returns?

Google Calendar replies in the channel thread, so everyone in that channel sees the answer. It uses the connecting person's Google Calendar permissions, and the connection does not expand anyone's membership in FabricLoop.
