Open Set status from your avatar or profile menu. Add an emoji and a short line, pick availability, and optionally choose when it clears.
Open Set status
- Tap your avatar on Home, or open the profile menu (•••).
- Choose Set status. If you already have a status, the menu shows that line instead of the default label.
- On Home, you can also tap the status title next to your avatar when one is set.
On the web, open your avatar in the sidebar and choose Set status — the same dialogue covers emoji, status text, availability, and Clears After. You can also open it from My Profile.
Set emoji, text, and availability
- Pick an emoji, then type a short status — or use a preset such as Out of office, Working from home, Out sick, or Travelling.
- Under Availability, choose Available, Away, or Do Not Disturb. Available is the default when nothing else is selected.
- Choose Clears After if you want it to expire: Don't clear, 30 min, 1 hour, 4 hours, Today, This week, or a custom date and time.
- Tap Done. Changes save when the sheet closes.
Use Clear status in the status menu to remove the emoji and text without changing the rest of your profile.
Where teammates see it
- Next to your avatar (including a presence / availability dot).
- On Home as your status title, when one is set.
- On Team and your profile.
Team's Status grouping is separate: it sorts people by online or offline, not by the custom line you typed.
Tips
- Status is yours alone — it does not mute channels or change notification preferences.
- Presets, availability, and Clears After work the same way on the web as on iPhone, iPad, and Mac — all in the same Set status dialogue.
- Keep the line short so it fits next to your avatar.
